Rumney U12s bounced back from last week's demoralising loss to register a 33 - 0 win against a spirited Senghenydd side, who threatened on many occasions, particularly through their centres. A closely fought first quarter, when both sides pressed, was finally broken by an excellent try by a resurgent Johnny Stephens, who burst through the centre to score close to the posts, converted by Josh Oak, playing at stand off instead of his usual scrum half position. Gaining confidence from this score, Rumney continued to attack and were rewarded by Issac Laroche's barnstorming run from second row. The game continued in a similar vein, with the visitors attacking from deep, but unable to break through Rumney's good defensive tackling and Rumney scoring at regular intervals. A well worked move culminated in wing Will Giles going over in the corner, followed by another try from Issac Laroche and one from Ciaran Brazier; Josh Oak converting 2 and Brazier adding one more. All in all, a vastly improved performance. Two 'Man of the Match' awards: Jack Richards and Josh Oak at half back distributed and kicked the ball well.
