Rumney U12s were defeated by a well organised and big Caerleon team. The first half started with both teams attacking; Caerleon scored first with a well worked try after breaking out from their 22 after a sustained Rumney attack. Undaunted, Rumney continued to press the Caerleon line and were eventually rewarded near the end of the half by another surging run by their inspiring second row Issac Laroche who crashed over in the corner. 7 - 5 to the visitors at half time. The second half started much the same as the first half, with both teams looking to run with the ball. Caerleon increased their lead with a converted interception try in Rumney's 22. Despite sterling work from Rumney, they could not get past the visitor's defence and it was Caerleon who scored again through their giant centre. The game finished with Rumney on the attack. Rumney's men of the match were Max Bates, who put in a huge amount of work, initially from back row and then latterly at outside centre. Will Giles comprehensively stopped the Caerleon speedster on the wing, putting in tackle after tackle and always looking dangerous with ball in hand.
