After a slow start and a first period which ended 0-0 Rumney eventually overcame a well-organised Llandaff RFC U10s but were made to work hard for the victory. Rumney were guilty of squandering several good chances as, time and again, they chose the wrong option at the crucial moment or made an unforced error. Gradually, Rumney built up the pressure on Llandaff and some great work at the breakdown led to the first breach of the Llandaff defence and a well deserved try for Jack Walton which he converted to put Rumney 7-0 ahead. Despite this setback, Llandaff stuck to their good defensive organisation and Rumney had to work hard for their second try which came as Kian Williams spotted a half-gap to force himself over from close range to make the score 12-0. Llandaff never gave up and were determined in attack and resilient in defence but couldn't quite breach Rumney's defensive line. Two late scores - a try from Jack Walton and a converted try from Kian Williams allowed Rumney to close out the match 24-0.
