Rumney u10s scored a good win at CRICC u10s. Both sides tackled and defended well but it was Rumney's superiority at the breakdown - where Jack Walton was invariably present to jackal the ball or pounce on any loose ball spilled in the tackle - that decided the outcome. In the first period Rumney built a 40-0 lead through dominating possession to score 8 unanswered tries, in spite of some good defending from CRICC. The second half was a much closer affair with Rumney edging it 15-10 for an overall match result of 55-10. The try of the match came in this second half with Rumney demonstrating how well they can use turnover ball . Initially, Jack Walton jackaled the ball and made 20 yards before passing to Dan Smith who made a further 10 yards before popping the ball up in the tackle for Kian Williams to go over unopposed. CRICC mounted a late fightback as both sides began to tire to score two well-taken tries before Kian Williams had the final say with his third try of the morning.
